How Bourne's solar farm works

Clean Renewable Power
The Bourne community solar farm is expected to generate 1,560,000 kWh per year of clean energy and deliver it to the local utility’s electric grid. Members of the community will have the opportunity to secure a portion of the solar energy generated.

Same Utility Same Service
Your electricity will still be delivered through your utility’s lines and your utility will continue to provide you with distribution, metering, and billing services. All you need to do is sign up to save.

Over 20 years, the environmental impact of community solar is like saving:

The Solar Advantage

Look forward to saving on your utility bill while supporting Bourne and the community solar in Massachusetts.

The utility will allocate credits to your bill based on monthly output from the solar farm. This will be shown on your utility bill as a net metering credit.

You keep the net metering credit and pay IGS for the installation and continued operation of the solar farm. Your payment to IGS will always be less than the credit you receive.
